Hi guys im new into house plants and I wanted to ask why do you have to prune it? And when? Should I do it now?

I do it because otherwise my entire house would be full of trailing pothos vines and I’d never be able to find my dogs. Once they’re happy and growing they’re CRAZY – I prefer a bushy, short plant, so mine get frequent trims.
Soon I’m going to have to look into selling cuttings because my family is sick of me giving them cuttings.
