Nothoscordum Which is a noxious weed in the eastern states. It can not be eradicated buy poison as it has smaller bulbs and the will continue to live. I have dug them out and then sieved the soil for the smaller bulbs. This has worked but is time consuming. You can dig down to the top of the bulb and pour old cooking oil on them. This suffocates the complete bulb, but nothing else will grow in that area for a while.

You now have two choices:-
1. Hire a bobcat and remove the top 500mm of your yard then concrete the lot.
2. Spend the rest of your life digging this miserable bastard out of your yard only to have it pop up bigger and stronger

If you dig it out, dig a large hole completely out and then pull the weed out by the bulb from underneath the clump of dirt – otherwise you’ll release seeds and 5 more will grow in its place.
If you find that seeds are releasing with digging it out, the only effective option (and I’ve tried natural like boiling water, vinegar, etc.) is glyphosate mixed with dish liquid. Use a small paintbrush or dap with a gloved finger to apply when there is no rain around.
If you’re planning to remulch your garden bed, try putting some newspaper or cardboard down first, this will help limit the spread of the weed.
