I water it 1-2 per week for about 15-20min. I don’t have a sprinkler system so I have to do my best with the sprinklers I have. This portion of my lawn is in the sun all day if that matters.
Honestly not really sure what kind of grass it predominately is. I seeded it the first time last summer from scratch with some fast growing big box store seed. I have since overseeded last fall and this spring with some seed from a local company that was 80% KGB.
Do I just need to get off my ass and water more?

Maybe ask your neighbor what he or she is doing differently

Couple things.. some of your grass looks flaky.. maybe some Disease X from Scott’s will help wherever disease is.. otherwise, the majority of your ‘brown’ is old seedheads from early summer. I also need to figure out how to get rid of them.. I think the best thing to do is prevent, so I understand

How often are you mowing? Mowing’s like working out for your lawn. I suggest 2x a week.

New sod needs a lot more water than established grass. From your comments it seems like you’re just not watering enough

Get a soil test done. How much water does your lawn receive on a weekly basis and how often and when is it watered?

Water, fertilizer, overseed, maybe detach in the fall and tenacity treatment after that.
