I couldn’t find the right size divider. So I made a big gravel hill, held up with a huge chunk of wood.
The terrestrial side will have soil, mosses and ground cover creepers in the terra-cotta pan. This will allow moisture in without rotting the plants or soil above the waterline. The water will be about an inch or inch and a half below the pan.
The terrestrial side has some riverbed sand, gravel and plant soil (and some seeds I just put in). I’ll have a sponge filter in the right back corner. And I also have some nice lush plants I’ll be putting in the soil area once my seeds sprout.
Thoughts? This will be for a pair of firebelly newts and some snails.
