That’s awesome. I’m planning on doing the same thing with wild cherries in my yard. I couldn’t tell you if yours are healing well or not, but either way I’m impressed 🙂

This is called gummosis and can weaken a tree. While technically it is possible to graft these together, in some cases the scion can be too large in proportion to the rootstock.
Please share a photo of the entire tree and a photo of the base of the tree and surrounding ground around the trunk.
