I have been waiting a long time to get this project completed, but everything is finally done! This year these plants won’t grow much, but rather focus on root development. Next year we will see a lot of growth on these plants, and many more blooms as well! We are planning to water these plants through the rest of the season until they are established.
Here is more information for each of the plants we put in the ground!

I love before and after transformations! This was such a huge project from start to finish! Seeing your dad bring out the heavy equipment brought back memories of me as a youngster helping my uncle and dad cut trees in the summertime. These are the kind of projects you'll always cherish 😊.
You now have much more interest for all seasons and can actually see the house! Great job!
Awesome transformation. Looking great. Thanks for taking us along.
So refreshing!!! I love a fresh new start and you have really updated the landscape with your choice of plants. I am excited for you guys and can't wait to watch everything grow into their new home. Amazing job, Joshua!!!
Wow. Great job. Looks so much better without those terrible bushes. They don't bloom and they attract wasps. Those junipers are a nightmare.
The front of your Dad's house would look nicer if he got rid of those scalloped edge shutters and sill.
BIG transformation. So much hard work. Great job
Not low maintenance. All the shrubs and even the tree by the driveway are going to needtrimming everyy year. Even the grasses need tri ming every year in the spring. All are too big for the space.😮
Why plant that pine so close to the house if it gets 20 feet wide?
Ten years from now you're gonna wish you'd never Planted that pine tree that close to your house, take It out now there are so many dwarf pine trees you could use instead
Nice job tearing everything out. Unfortunately everything you picked as a foundation plant is a specimen shrub and should be out somewhere where they can grow to their mature size in five years everything will be so overgrown. You won’t see the front of the house. More than half the year you’re going to have two evergreens 30 feet tall on the side of your house then nothing all winter long in front of your house but you’re young you’ll learn
Wash, rinse, repeat in a few years🤷🏽♀️
Wow! That was a lot of work.. I feel you guys.. my husband and I done it 3yrs. Ago in front of my house. I love everything you did. And love all the plants… yes.. those pine trees can be prune and control the size. 😊
I love this video. Watching the "demolition" without description or explanation was interesting to watch. I admit it was a little difficult watching those mature shrubs get pulled out but the end result is wonderful. Thank you for the brief, concise description at the end of plant name and needs.
Great video, thanks for bringing us along. Look forward to seeing everything grow. I’m sure your Dad is so happy too! 😊
What a great video! Loved watching those old roots being taken out. So nice to start anew!! Thanks for sharing.
Why all these big plants that will grow big and wide?
If a tree is going grow to be 20 feet wide, that means the diameter is going to be 20 feet, and the radius is 10 feet. Tie a string to the tree and go around it. That’s what you can expect, and plant it accordingly so it does not undermine the foundation of the house or block anything important like gas meters.
Even if you prune back the tree, the root ball will still be as wide as the original tree would have been, so keep that in mind. The root ball will grow to its own parameters.
Looking @ all those stumps thinking Bonsia!
I've watched 1000's of landscape videos … never seen people use a measuring tape so much while planting ?!? 😂 didn't make much sense to me but it looks nice
Wow, your soil is like melted butter! I would plant a ton more if mine were like that!
Absolutely thumbs down on this! You cut down a establish mature tree. I wonder does your city have established ordinances against that and if so did you get a permit? Meaning was a tree disease.. absolutely awful!!!
Oh yes i would never have planted that pine that close to the house either
Birds use pine trees for food and shelter. It’s always sad to see them cut down. I do wish you success with the new garden. I wish Native shrubs were planted instead. Non native don’t support as much life and aren’t host plants to wildlife.
Consider plants like clethra, button bush, Native viburnum, regent serviceberry, pencil point juniper, Native hydrangeas, herbaceous hibiscus, Joe pye weed, mountain Laurel, spice bush, witch Hazel, and so many more. There is a Native lilac; the California lilac.
What a sad thing that you did pat on the back? foot in your ass
Love those hydrangeas!
Sharing everyone of Jesus Christ, He is coming back. We are spiritually saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord God and Savior.
I love the transformation but think the white pine is too close to the house. For fire safety reasons, you really don't want pine branches overhanging the roof.
You wasted all that beautiful trees..just reshape and trim those trees will make yr garden gorgeous..
