  1. What's a good source of calcium? I planted using Trifecta+ … last year my plants did great with it, and many still are
This year, we have tomatoes wilting and am trying to diagnose why!

  2. do you have a good source that a Canadian can get their hands on. because I can not get the Tribeca or other options you always talk about

  3. There is actually 3 reasons. You didn't mention the one I'm having issue with and that is sun/heat stress.

  4. I’ve been hearing a lot about this botany 101 stomata stuff. Plants do transpire, but this sun is much more harsh than it ever was. The UV is too strong along with all this unusually hot weather some of us use to never get and for a lot longer season.
Shade fabric will cure the wilting and quit stressing your plants. On cooler or cloudy days take it off.
The extreme drought in WI my plants wouldn’t be alive without shade and water. We were 94*F at 9 am and we topped at 101*F by 2pm. I do have a bit of hotter microclimate and sandy soil. The native dry prairie plants and weeds are dead. We haven’t had a decent rain since sometime in May maybe, who can remember units been too long. We are 8” down on precipitation and we have another chance tonight and tomorrow but it only spritzes. We did have a half inch last week but that was like trying to whiz on a forest fire.
Stomata, stomata—the plants need shade fabric because once wilted then it’s fry time and they won’t bounce back. FYI—It will be hotter next year so get your shade fabric as you will need it. I can’t believe anything about calcium—Sorry.
If your squash are wilted in the morning you have a vine borer.
