Depends on your goal. Both are perfectly valid approaches. Do you want a certain look? A certain growth type? You can cut and regraft the tiny one onto pereskiopsis if propagation is your intention.

On all mine the pups just get to the point yours is at and have stopped growing. Haven’t bothered to remove them. There’s one dicot that has a nice dicot pup that I will eventually cut off and graft. But the rest I’ll probably leave alone
