Ready for a little before and after action? This is the condo my sis @faithblakeney and I redid last year for our parents. We kept the original cabinets, but painted them and replaced the upper cabinet with open shelving. The backsplash tile from @fireclaytile and the terra-cotta porcelain floor tiles from @wayfair were major factors in updating the whole feel of the space. Surrounding the windows with a colorful hue helps to frame the view and pump up the contrast creating more dynamism in the kitchen. We put an emphasis on natural materials and chose light fixtures and furniture made from rattan and jute as a natural neutral. Our whole family meets here on Sundays and we love gathering in this space, it’s very conducive to hanging out and enjoying each other as well as my mama’s bomb-a$$ cooking 😋 😁🍴.
