This little loph is feeling very squishy and starting to discolor. How can I tell if the understock is dying (it’s pup has also been discoloring slightly)? Do I need to degraft?
You definitely need to degraft. The rootstock is shriveled up, and the pup is the only thing alive as far as I can tell.
Some rootstock are longer lasting than others but smaller ones don’t tend to last as long in my experience .
