I thought it's been common knowledge that you shouldn't mix AHA/BHA with retinol in any form, due to possible skin sensitivities and reactions. The same goes for Vit C and niacinamide – however, we can see more and more products that do exactly that. I thought I'd try one of them (Garnier Vit.C+Niacinamide) brightening serum and I had really bad reaction to it (itching, rash, redness). I guess it's down to individual tolerance of the product and it's ingrediants.

I'm getting excited for the wedding too. Both of your lovley personailies are shinnng through, your thoughtfullness for your guests for the wedding, not to mention all of the lovely antiques youll have on display and flowers. You both have put so much thought into this big day, this will be not a cookie cutter wedding at all. It will be a true Josie and Charlie elegant day in the garden! Your little side tables look like fairy tail mushroms which will blend into your ganden and flowers so well.
Plus, your brothers cleaning of the pond looks so good. Would there be less algie if you had a water pump/fountain to bring more activilty in the pond so it's constantly moving?

Using a AHA/BHA/ Retinol with Vitamin C is not recommended.
“AHAs and BHAs, such as glycolic, salicylic, and lactic acids should never be used with Vitamin C. Vitamin C is an acid, too, and is unstable, so the pH balance will be thrown off by layering these ingredients together and might as well be useless.”
Vitamin C also should not be used at the same time as a retinol.
“Retinol shouldn’t be used with Vitamin C either, because they’re both active ingredients. Retinol helps build collagen but it also creates skin cell turnover, so using it with an acid like Vitamin C can cause more irritation. Instead, use retinol at night and Vitamin C during the day. Retinol tends to work better with moisturizing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and SPF.”

Be careful with your skin, and always double check which products can and should be used together. Just like in gardening…some ingredients just don’t get along!

We had a garden wedding planned but it ended up all happening in the marquee we had for the reception, and let me tell you, I wouldn't change it for the world!
