Teshima Art Museum – hands down the best experiential art installation I’ve ever been to! Inside the impressive free form concrete dome structure globules of water well up from tiny holes in the concrete floor and roll over the undulating ground. They eventually meet other globules and combine to form larger puddles. These puddles slowly fill and eventually roll on to form larger pools. Hours could be spent watching this strange and fascinating process. To access the museum you have to wend your way over a winding concrete path, passing through picturesque island scenery. Truly worth a visit for fans of art, architecture and landscape. The piece is the combined work of artist Rei Naito and architect Ryue Nishizawa #teshima #landscape #architecture #art #design #artinstallation #japan
