Welcome Gardeners! Itβs Deadheading Day! Itβs a garden task that really is important. The goal of deadheading is to stop the plant from completing itβs lifecycle by producing seeds. When you deadhead, you interrupt that plantβs lifecycle, causing it to rebloom in an attempt to produce seed again! So what we get from deadheading is more blooms! πΈ Enjoy!

Very interesting
What pruners do you like to use?
I'm a deadheader PW or not. My Supertunia vista Jazzberry and Suberbena Purple Amathyst I made baskets with and planted in my large window box needed deadheading. I know they say you don't need to but I hate all the spent blooms. Maybe when they get much larger and established I wont see it as much but its only been a few weeks. I'm just a neat freak that way.π€ Thank you for sharing.
You did an excellent job! The garden just got more beautiful!
The cottage garden is looking beautiful this summer. but so does everything else.
I disinfect my clippers after
I trim my roses! We have black spot and spider mites here in zone 8 , GA
I watched the most interesting doc. on here yrs ago. wish I saved videos back then. They planted in a glass container, then watched how the roots grew, I swear after that I thought they had a brain and spoke to each other, I guess in a way they do, speak to each other. Trees are fascinating too. Foxglove are my favorite flower, I see I have a whole little patch that reseeded, like they all dropped in the same place…I LOVE IT π₯°
The Chelsea chop is the best way to dead head.
Cut off half of the dead blooms, leave some…then when the new blooms are showing, chop the other half.
Less stress on the plant and still having some colour, instead of none for 4 weeks or so.

Thank you! This was a great video and definitely gives me motivation to deadhead! I love how your garden has so many different plants!
Deadheading is like a cleanse. I enjoy the process. Thank you!
Thank you!! I learned so much!!!! – I have peonies after 5 years!!!! Iβm so excited I put rings around all 6 plants so I can enjoy this long awaited showπ π
Thank you Janey. π·ππ
Everything in your garden is looking wonderful…it's beautiful. I no longer work so it's much easier for me to come out and just dead head a little bit each day but sometimes I slack on that. I have a question with my Dutch Iris and my Bearded Iris foliage, do I need to let it yellow and brown like daffodils before cutting it down? I'm not sure what I do with that in order to make sure it comes back next year. This is my 1st year growing them so I'm an Iris newby. I just love them. I am definitely going to put more Iris and Tulips into my garden this fall for next year. Thanks for your videos I absolutely love them. You are the 1st one I watch every morning.
Just love watching your videos! Great ideas and beautiful gardens!π
Your garden is gorgeous!
The arch rose has grown so much up the trellis just since the garden tour! Everything looks great as usual π the tour really inspired and motivated me! Iβve been working more diligently in my garden! Getting my great sandal tan going on π
Everything is looking beautiful Janey π₯°
Great video! Lots of great information. Now I know why I have leggy geraniums! πM
Can you please give an example of a βone and doneβ flower? Also, can you please tell me the brand name of your water hose? I tried to find one like yours and I couldnβt find it. Thanks!
Love it. Nice garden
It would be great if you would save your rose petals and dry them for a potpourri
Hi Janey, you have inspired me so much to get my garden back into the groove. Can you please share a video on how you care for Roses? Feeding, insect and disease control?
The Eden climbing rose is absolutely breathtaking. I would love to get one but Japanese beetles and black spots always plague my roses here in zone 8a Georgia. I just love your garden and also congratulations in your Master Gardening degree. Iβm so proud of you girly. ππππ

I didnβt know the white moth was this signal that bud worm is in process. Thx so much
I love how neat and tidy it always looks after! I actually was not sure about deadheading peonies, so now Iβm going to go tidy them up. π₯³
I have never been sure about where to make the cut when deadheading the different plants, so thank you for this video, Janey!
