Came across this Casuarina equisetifolia for the first time in my life while in Nassau, immediately thought I was dealing with some sort of Gymnosperm. Nope! In the order Fagales!
Which Nassau are we talking here? Bahamas, Cook Islands or Germany?
(I am assuming one of the warmer areas, though I was a bit excited for a second. But we do have botanical gardens, and I have seen some in regular gardens here as well. Though rarely. Got to have luck and a mild area for winter, I think).
