Thank you Linda for inspiring me to get back in the garden. Love all your videos of your new garden.
Thoroughly enjoying watching this process. Can't wait for the backyard! However…thinking those begonias might have a tough life in the full-sun window box.
No no no no to the Begonias in the window box. WAY too much sun for them. They will be very sad.
It looks like all the plants are filling in already. Very pretty.
Your question of the day for the large part in the front, I think an ornamental grass would look great. Loving your updates, Linda.
Or rudbeckia for the pot!
Hi Linda, your yard is really shaping up. The planters should have been made to look smooth with wood putty (maybe sanding and primer too) first before painting them in my opinion.
Have you ever planted Yews or do they not grow in your area. I adore the large planter box 😊. Is any brick going to happen in the backyard?
It’s been in the 80s this week up here in Michigan. Record high temps for this time of year.
Besides the brick rugs, why not putting bricks mixed in with the slate pathway?
Linda what color screen did you use to put on the bricks going down the pathway
Rain this week in the flatland, finally. I am concentrating on mulch with this drought and extreme heat we have had. I put wood mulch over the rock mulch to keep it cooler. It seems my redbud is really suffering in the hottest corner, so I hope it survives. The mulch hopefully can retain the very little moisture we have.
Won’t the metal liners burn plant roots in the sun?
Tricolor Sedum Spurium succulent…. Or Dragons blood sedum. I have landscaped a problem area at a our church and proved very hardy beautiful … and a comeback kid of a plant.
Between the wind and the drill it’s hard to hear KAYLA
How about ornamental oregano in that pot? The transformation is incredible 😍
Looks like you decided to extend the front patio from the original size?
I would never have dreamed how this beautiful garden has come together. Not because I didn't think you could do it. I just couldn't wrap my head around it. so wonderful.
Your garden is coming along and is looking so beautiful. Love the tulips! So beautiful! Can't wait to see you do the window box. I know it will look fantastic.
Linda you are amazing. You work very hard in your passion. Talented, smart & kind. Your. Followers look forward in hearing and seeing your new home grow with love.
Are you going to have drip for the window box and also your containers?
I’m adding a lot to my garden this spring too. I love it. It’s so fun❤
Just some suggestions for your window box. Proven Winter Supertunias has a new one called Mini Vista Midnight, a dark blue-purplish that would be a beautiful contrast to mix with the color of the window box. (I am sure you know they are heavy performers and I cut mine back often to keep them from taking over.) Lysimachia Goldie Locks would look beautiful also and a true trailer. Both take heat and perform well. I am planting this combo in my pots which will be something new to me. Hibiscus by Aris would work also if you can get them. They stay compact and maintain their form in window boxes without getting overgrown. I also love Becopa in just about everything and Evolvulus Blue Days is a true trailer of blue flowers that you might like.
So enjoy sharing your progress. It can't be said too often as to how beautiful it is already looking.
Where is the Bird bath??
That white flower observation would probably be logical bc the white flowers reflect the sun better. The dark flowers get hotter ie absorb more heat and maybe don’t last as long. Amazing work. Such progress ! See u tomorrow.
I love the way Linda shares her gardening secrets with her viewers!
In the bright sunlight, the trim color that's also used on the window box looks much lighter than in previous videos.
I know it would look bad, but have you considered using shade cloth to protect the new plants? I would hate to see many die. If I was given that many plants, I would do everything possible to keep them alive.!! There are so many of us that will never get that kind of plant delivery. You can cover them with your outdoor table, chairs etc. Who cares what it looks like.
I use the same mulch. Great stuff.
Wow! The view from east across the upper terrace and social patio after addressing the window box, Took. My. Breath. Away! It is gorgeous! Giving me a nudge to work on mine!
Supertunias which you chose!, Their are so many colors to choose from!!
And white blossoms show up more during the day & in the moonlight. It's coming along perfectly Linda dear. We get a bit of weather to warn us of the coming temps. It will cool first then really let you have it! My lantana isn't blooming yet. Your trees are coming along nicely. This is so much for all of us. We love you Linda & Stewart. 🥰
You have a great crew there!
Hot there cold in so called sunny CA. Still winter here.
Kayla is a Gem and a great friend to you! She works so hard and is so humble ~ she deserves accolades! 🌳
I love how your garden is evolving. Gives me so much inspiration for my own front garden. As for your question of the day, what about planting a Japanese Maple in that pot in front? Hard to tell how big that pot is but if big enough, It would add some nice color amidst all the greenery.
Supertunias do well in the sun and would look beautiful in your flower box.
I think in that hot sun pastels are definitely the way to go. If you put landscape fabric at the bottom of the window box, it will keep the drainage holes from clogging. Looking very pretty 💚
To answer your question of the day, Reblooming Azaleas. I'm ready for these men to finish your Sprinkling System or find another crew, in the nicest possible way. cgzone8
For the annual pot with the alliums, you could use angelonia, annual vinca, dwarf zinnias, dwarf gomphrena, Evolvulus, snow Euphorbia, fan flower(scaevola), cape Plumbago. Any of those will stand up to the south sun you have and be happy as a clam!
Love 😘 the updates🌳🍄🌳🍄🌼🌼🍄🌱🪴🌷🌿💙🌷🌻🌳🌻💜💗
Linda your vision is just amazing. If I went back to video 1 fast forwarding to this video you can just see you! If I didn’t know you lived in this home, I would know you orchestrated this garden. Fabulous! 💜
I love the way the foxgloves hitched a ride in the cement boxes! It's obvious they wanted to go with you to the new house and didn't want to be left behind. That says a lot about the gardener!☺
I love updates👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Maybe line the planter box of chocolates with a foam material for insulation purposes and reduce heat stress on plant roots from the metal ??
You certainly have a 'green thumb' everything you 'pop' in somewhere grows. Love the White
Tulips, I will get some in our winter, we still can't get rid of a very hot Summer here in Australia.
