  2. Miss Vicki is certainly knowledgeable you're lucky to have her as a neighbor Robert. We'll all learn something. Thanks

  3. Sunflowers and zinnias are going to be such fun along the fence line! Great to see something pretty after the wisteria forest. 🌻🌻🌻🌼🌼

  4. Hi Vickie aka Friesian and seed lady. Teach Robert right and ty for your help. So planting rice..cant wait to see. Hiii Blue!!

  5. The Old Byrd Farm is going to look awesome when everything starts blooming ❗

  6. When using newspapers, remember that most modern inks are vegetable based. You can call your local paper and ask. Layer the stack of papers 6-10 sheets thick, overlap each stack 4-6” so weeds won’t grow between. Lay 4-6” mulch (straw, bark, or compost) on top of the papers. I’ve been doing it for years and it works great. Wet the paper to keep it from blowing about until you cover it with mulch. Enjoy

  7. I planted sunflowers one year. I was sitting on my front porch just admiring my flowers and noticed something moving on one of my sunflowers. Walking to the flower, I saw what was eating the seeds, it was a mouse. I pulled the plant up that day. My neighbors had asked me for some seeds when I had started growing them. The next day, they noticed the flowers were gone and asked me what happened. Needless to say neither wanted any seeds to plant.

  8. That is so nice! I did not get who the lady was but that was very nice on her part to come and get your Sun flower row planted. I miss the friends of yours when your site started. Going out in the boat and working on the driveway. I hope they come back now and then on the video’s it was so southern to have people just stop over and give you a hand. So this lady was a nice addition to the video . And it was nice to see the old buggy. Now if someone would put a pot of blue silk flowers on the seat it would be pretty. I live in far off Ohio but if I was close I would put on a flower that would take no watering . Nice to see program going back to old friends too.

  9. Very nice work! Can't wait to see the beautiful flowers. Boy, you have come a long way with the home. Take care.

  10. I just love your Ms. Vicki! I hope you all don't mind but I think she's going to have to be adopted as a permanent part of The Old Byrd Farm family….
