You do it the same way as I do it since a few years. I just remove the lowest brench with leaves when I plant them in. That means, I plant them a bit deeper. On the place where I removed the lowest brench with leaves, the plant does produce also roots in the ground. I have tons of tomatos that way. I put 4 plants in a box from that size. I wish all visitors a good gardening year 2023!
