nice vid
Afternoon Huw. This is nothing to do with this video but I've seen you growing potatoes in tubs. Do you recommend planting the potatoes and the filling the tub with soil, or just keep toping the soil up as the potatoes grow.
Swiss Chard is actually beet leaves.
I hate the taste of beetroot! Can you give tips (other than pickling them) for making them taste less earthy ?
I am just harvesting my beetroot here in Thailand. I can only grow them in our winter 🙂
The only pest that bothers my beets is the Sow Bug. The love to take nibbles out of the young beets, which form into scabs as the beets mature.
What did the albino beet root taste like?
Thank you for these videos Huw, it's helped me so much in my gardening journey 🙂
I love beetroots myself and I like the smaller ones for canning and pickling whole, but I'm happy with any size for roasting. A question: unfortunately I don't have a greenhouse so I depend on grow lights. Are there any great differences between seedling care pertaining to lighting without a greenhouse? Other than harding off, etc.
Merci pour vos conseils🌸
Thank you so much for the recipes. It was the Huw's Hungry Gap Salad that drove me to grow purple sprouting broccoli! I love all these colors! Thank you Huw and Sam!
Hello from Northern- Finland 👋 I love beetroots 💜 I direct sow them about 6.6. after the last frost and beginning of August harvest them. I got 40 kg last summer. We eat them the whole year. They grow fast here, cause the Midnight sun.
Can you cut off the tops for harvest, then harvest root later? I would think so. Storing root veg for later, sweeten with frost.
I love beetroot we are in autumn now in Australia. Looking forward to watching your growing season.😄
Can beets be eaten as micro greens?
What do you think of the Silvagrow Compost.
I love beet root, I want to make beetroot pasta 🍝 I’m so excited 😆
I usually direct sow mine in early April up here on Lancs/Cumbria border. But need to protect them and chard for a couple of months otherwise the Sparrows rip the leaves to bits!
Very interesting video. Just seeing for improving my english and also because I would like to do gardening at home and in my future house. Helpful!!
Brilliant! I'm growing beetroot for the first time this year so 🤞
I just sowed two types of beetroot today. Didn’t knew you could sow multiple seeds in a single plug so I used a single seed instead. Sow distance is 10cm with 30cm between rows according to the seed instructions while you sowed them with much less space in between. First time gardener so I’ll see how it all turns out. Season has just started so plenty of time to sow some more beetroot a bit later 😅
Thank you for answering my question re the bulbs not forming.
Thanks Huw. Will sow beetroot this week 👍
I'm quite disappointed you're still buying in plastic bagged compost and not making enough of your own.
Have some seeds and need to try, was thinking of sowing after I take out some onions. Didn’t think of sowing inside, might change my plan into an early season attempt.
Huw, I'm really enjoying this new format of video, thanks for sharing!
