  1. My sister got an indoor potted mini rose bush as a Valentines Day gift, any advice on how to keep it alive & thriving?

  2. I know there are different theories on garden cleanup. I usually leave the leaf debris in hopes it will break down and help amend our clay soil. However, do you find it to be more of a risk (mold/disease/etc.)? Or are you cleaning it all up because it looks good?

  3. Happy Valentine’s Day. We have rain today so will wait on starting cleanup. But spring fever is striking! So ready for spring!

  4. I'm so here for this! I know the new gardening season has begun when Laura does her first Spring flower bed clean up!

  5. I will be starting my cleanouts in March at about the same time I lay out fertilizer and mulch. Today I will probably start working on potting up Salvia and celery seedlings. Yesterday, my oregano and basil seedlings finally showed their little faces. It's almost like Christmas every time I go look at my grow station.

  6. One needs to be careful they don’t clean up too early for their region!!! You can disturb insects, and such that are still snuggling down in the cold that is yet to come! Just because you can get out there in a jacket doesn’t mean it’s time to clean up.

  7. Hay girl ! I admire your energy and your passion and knowledge about a beautiful garden.
I hope you have a great season!
I live in Dallas TX. Probably the hardest place i`v ever gardened.
Love my palm trees but very hard to keep happy, !!

  8. Question: How does one go about cleaning out the brown arborvitae leaves? I need to do this but am worried about causing damage.

  9. Seems so strange to see spring cleanup underway. Zone 4B, -11c and 2’ of snow still in the ground, so we wait….

  10. Would you love to be in a place where there's no frost whole year ? Would you enjoy color and green foliage throughout the year , speaking from zone 12.

  11. Always love your clean up videos. Over the weekend I did a mini clean up and this morning we woke up to snow in the Willamette Valley! Question..do you walk around your beds with a notepad jotting down things you need to fill in a space (like the roses you said you have on order)? Thank you for sharing your gardening knowledge and family life with us.

  12. ☕️Good morning to all. So good to see Laura in the garden beds. It’s been beautiful here in Southeast Michigan, and seeing people out “sprucing up” is a lovely sight to behold. Have a lovely day wherever you are, and thank you, Laura for the inspiration this Valentine’s Day 💌💕❤️🌷

  13. When you garden on a large scale and have little humans, things just take longer. You are fortunate to have Paul and Bethany to help you out 😊

  14. Now I feel very motivated to get my considerably smaller garden beds cleaned up, pruned and fertilized. Can’t wait. Thanks for all your great videos. You have been very motivational to me since I first started watching your videos. Thanks a bunch

  15. I had to laugh because Laura has said it herself before but she had dirt all over her face and at first I thought wow she really contoured today 😂

  16. Love seeing garden clean up and pruning! Like having a gal pal working on the same project at the same time as me. ❤😂

  17. Such a useful video Laura. I can’t say I’m the most confident when it comes to pruning as I’m always scared I’ll do more damage than good, but this has really helped guide me through this weeks garden projects. x

  18. I spent my day yesterday cleaning up my garden! It’s always so rewarding . Zone 7A here in Philadelphia. Can’t believe I have my Allium bulbs and some daffodil bulbs poking through! Thanks for all your tips and knowledge it helps so much!

  19. Thanks for the motivation! Someone else mentioned a "how to" clean arbs…. would love to see that as well as what to do when they start splitting. Have a beautiful day!

  20. I am thinking I need to wait a little longer 🤷I love how much nicer it looks once it's cleaned up👍👏🎉I do have a little crocus in bloom tho – it's definitely been super mild here in Connecticut this year! ☀️

  21. Very satisfying and yes, makes me want to tackle my beds. I'm in zone 6a, so when you start cutting back butterfly bushes etc I know to check on mine. Thanks Laura

  22. Do you deal with rabbits eating your trees and shrubs in the winter? How much damage is too much that it won’t come back on a new hydrangea?

  23. Here in the U.K., in late autumn we prune roses back by one third to prevent damage to the roots caused by wind rock then prune again in early spring. I’m assuming your dry climate doesn’t allow the roots to be loosened by wind

  24. Wow!! Here in NB, Canada we are in deep snow and today it's -13°C. We are far from spring. Last week it was over -40°C!!!! I can't wait to start cleaning up. Question: I have a limelight hydrangea tree which is beautiful. Do you recommend we trim all the old blooms? Great video. Happy Valentine's Day!!!

  25. I NEED to k ow this about Russell. Does he hop in the gator with you, or does he always run down and find you? He’s ALWAYS living his best life and I love getting to spot Russell! 🥰

  26. Hi Laura! All the leaves on my rose are still green (didn’t get cold enough over the winter). Should I still cut all the leaves off when trimming them back? Thank you!

  27. These are some of my favorite videos of yours! Sooo motivating to me. Let’s get after it! 🙌🏾🫡

  28. This is certainly motivating! It's also helpful to see the different methods you use on individual plants. In Michigan I do pretty much the same to my limelight hydrangea standard, but in late fall and it tgrives! I cannot leave the spent blooms for the winter because of snow collection. They are obviously pretty forgiving because mine does great every year! 😊
