Fantastic ideas for planters! ๐ ๐
Great combos, they were beautiful this year!!
What great video full of lots of great advice and a inspiring one to. Lots of lovely planting ideas for our containers. Some beautiful plants.
As far as the โwicked witchโ Coleus was the word you were looking for โfrilly?โ๐ค really enjoyed this video, thanks so much.โฃ๏ธ
Yes, I did. They are always sooooo fun to watch. I even giggled when during one of Ken's edits, one of them was there one second and gone the next. ๐๐
I love the cat brawl in the background! ๐
Thank you! Love sweet potato vine with everything!โค
About 1 years ago we bought a shed and hubby built a window box that would face NW. That first year I planted and assortment of plants, fuchsia, impatiens, a vine of some sort and a couple other plants long forgotten. Before the summer was over, the double impatiens had taken over and filled the space beautifully. Everyone thought they were roses! From then on, I only planted the dble impatiens because, why fight with perfection. Last year we bought a new shed, bigger than the last. We oriented it in the same way. This time that side would get a trellis and whiskey barrel on either side of the double doors. I planted Black-eyed Susan vine (thunbergia) Lemon Star, salvia and a trailing begonia. The thunbergia took off and so did the begonia. First time planting these two plants. I've never seen you plant the thunbergia and think with your system and conditions, you might want to give it a look for the kids garden for over the archway. Likes full sun, moderate water, feeding regularly and blooms continuously without dead heading. The spent blooms grow a sort of Oriental lantern pod, giving the plant more texture. I really think you'd love it.
I love hearing about your experiences with full sun plants that tolerate some shade! I'm surrounded by trees so always trying to see what I can get away with here
I am glad I found you you have a lot to offer
This was a great video and I loved you sitting where you were!!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Acapulco sun really struck me last summer as you were walking through your garden tour in the clip you played here and I wanted to recreate it this year but couldn't remember which season or tour I saw you show it in a garden tour so i was combing through your tours looking for that beaut but it was taking a while with 3 kids distracting me and having to rewind over and kver incase i missed it! It looked far better in your garden, more whimsical with the gara floating above the supertunias compared to the picture on proven winners website. I'm glad I saw it in your garden instead!
Planters look so beautiful how does the college clean the sidewalk from all that hard water stain I have that problem on my porch from my Jack Barnwell pots?
Did you think about putting your lovely bird fountain in the middle of the planter rack against the wall?? Better yet, the corner round table where you can hear it while Benjamin & you have Hot chocolate? We would love for you to share the recipe you decided on for the Hartley corner Pots ASAP! We r excited!!
I love the coleus. Do you think it would make a good center piece plant?
I wish you guys did more of those type of videos in the winter …. like take one area and look back at every year you planted it, – for example kitchen window containers over the years, front of the house , portico, the long lane of big containers , separate flowerbeds, every winter its worth looking back at the same footage plus that new year ! trust me no-one will ever mind! and its fun to see planting varieties in the dead of winter anyway..
most people looking to rewatch summer stuff at this time anyway…ย
like I've been stuck on repeat every single peony video out there , its so beautiful. I can't stop๐๐
What are the yellow flowers behind the set of planters in front of the portico on the right hand side (8:36).
love the cats always being around! whatever happened to Dexter?
Good video, thanks for the ideas. Love your silly cats.
Just a question where can I find an update on the beautiful Planting Some Problem Shade Hanging Baskets in My Parents Garden? Also, what is the large feathery Plant beneath them at the 13:25 mark? ๐ฟ
๐๐
You are so knowledgeable and give me tons of inspiration, but you you please keep your hair out of your right eye. Very distracting and likely impair your sight.
?? Laura, what is the name of the ? Rose? plant ?? (apricot in color) that is behind the 1st combination?
All your combos look great!! The Queen Tut looks beautiful with the supertunia mini vista yellow and ST Persimmon
๐๐๐. I think I might try those this year.
My eye was drawn to orange movement at the 3:55 mark–Russell and Cheddar fighting atop the cold frame outside the Hartley. Such silly, cute kitties!
Totally off topic, but behind Laura's left shoulder, the reflection looks like a wading/reflecting pool outside! Wouldn't that be gorgeous in front of the Hartley!
This has to be my favorite video so far for 2023!!!
On the videos that you have been receiving have you seen landscaping around mailboxes?
Hi Laura, is there a rule of thumb as to the number of plants you put in a container? I'm cautious about crowding them and stunt their growth? Just curious because I love how full the containers got!!! Thanks for this informative video!
Hi Laura, questionโฆโฆ I love the container combination with the Cana and lobelia sunset supertunia, something about the flower has a beautiful glowing effect.
Nice…i Missed watching videos from this channel, The current inflation got me so busy with work
I am always looking for the kitties โค
Me: wants to start planning planters and containers
My area: is in the middle of winter, still has a layer of 2+ feet of snow on the ground, last frost date is in JUNE ๐ฉ
love the cats fighting in the background lol
Wow! Looks like you planted fireworks in your pots! ๐๐ชด๐ I love that! Thanks for sharing this idea.
๐๐thanks so much for doing this video. I love love loved the containers when you did them so it was good to see them again. It makes me want to use some ideas from these containers!
Great video for inspiration.
What fertilizer do you use
I love the ethereal look of the guara. I have never thought of it for a pot. I'm definitely doing that one.
Awesome! Didn't know that about PW. thx for the info
