Lol Kev. I'm gonna be weeding tomorrow. I'm looking forward to harvesting some baby carrots. I threw the seeds in for fun last October. Been a sweet haul every tiny carrot harvested. Thank you for the happy reminder.
stop judging food by the size! why would you want a big ole'carrot with no nutrition vs. a lil'ugly carrot FULL of nutrition. we gotta'rePROGRAM ourselves about food -yo!
For my carrots I did them not even in a raised bed but in ground…made harvesting a bit harder that’s for sure. But with that I was able to let them grow from August 2022 til Mid January 2023, basically last week. I was able to get some really large ones out of it. But the best way I found to tell if they are ready is that the crown of the carrot is sticking out of the ground and is 1 inch or more in diameter. That’ll leave you with a nice carrot. As well as the growth on tops they should be pretty prolific and stand nearly a foot tall.
My carrots this year baited me by being about 2 inches all the way around on top and then immediately tapering into skinny nothings. I pulled it out thinking i was getting a good one, but it was actually a short and stubby disappointment lol
Hey you are harvesting in January dude! That beats me by a mile. Can't wait on the green house to go up this spring. 5 below this morning and dumping snow. I need a trip to Mexico!

I planted carrots last year. How do you know when it’s time to harvest them? I’m now waiting for the seeds of ones I didn’t pull.
You forgot the most important rule of harvesting! You forgot to make the noise.
My family try to grow carrots but we will try this coming winter but recently we harvest quite a good harvest of vegetables
I always end up with like 10k tiny carrots.
It’s like dating 😅
Carrot tops good for soups and dehydrating for adding to foods for extra flavor too. Chicken's gettin the good stuff!
I let mine go to seed and got like a million seeds to save. And the ground under them looks like a carpet of baby carrots, until the sleet..🌱❄️😅

The longer you let a carrot grow the bigger it gets, typically you give them a lot more time than any other veg in the garden.
Love this short! Please do more if you can since it’s easier to fit in watching them than a long video sometimes.😊❤
That's what she said.
Yeah I did the same with radishes I threw in a lot of seeds and only two grew so I ate them right after I pulled them out if the ground.

It can even trick you looking thick at the top and just being thick and short.
I can't even get carrots or radishes to grow. Tomatoes, Okra, Peppers, Collards…no problem. Carrots, Beets and radishes, Nope. 😔
I tend to find the smaller ones sweeter anyways
It always is!
Am I the only one who is sick of these shorts? They are so short that there often is no useful information.
