I’m pruning my collected Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) trees to get them more compact and to create a more miniature look to the trees.

    I read that like pine and yew you should prune in early summer and also remove old needles to get more buds.

  9. Sorry about that Nigel. Accidentally deleted my comment. Think I read in the notification they were kept inside? Surprising. Granted, the pots are all pretty shallow. I've got two junipers, a hinoki cypress, and a dwarf Alberta spruce roughing it outside this winter. Guess we'll see how they do
