  1. We tried the human hair around our garden and it did NOT work. We tied up small white plastic bags around the garden and it worked great

  2. Brought holly plants home from my mom's in North Carolina to here in NJ – the deer ate it. I've done the hair thing, the soap thing, had my dog pee along perimeter of the garden – none of it worked. Only six foot high netting has worked (although a buck jumped it once).

  3. Deer are grazers – putting a feeder in a corner of the yard won't keep them from hitting other (unprotected) areas of the yard.

  4. If u build a fence, put a smaller 3' fence in front of it about 5' away. The deer can't jump over both fences, or have enuff space to jump the main fence, works great around my garden.
