Cottage Garden Style
A cottage garden uses free design, dense plantings a mixture of ornamental and edible plants. It depends on grace and charm with a combination of plants that come together to create a pretty picture. A repeat of plants and colors create flow and harmony.

The Naturalistic Garden Style
The Naturalistic garden style uses native plants with a blend of annuals and perennials. Penelope Hobhouse says for us to “treat design principles like grammar. Learn it, forget it, and do your own thing. And your garden will work.”

  1. I enjoyed the garden tour!! Beautiful garden I always enjoy watching out. You have so many flowers and plants in your garden. Thank you for sharing Catherine!!

  2. At 39 seconds-I like the path in the turf. Fun. I would guess you have Japanese beetles on the roses. I helped a little in my mom's rose garden in the late 80s and remember them well. I can tell that I would be able to talk about flowers for hours with you. Happy gardening to you. Be safe.

  3. You have such a beautiful garden and a lovely way of presenting and welcoming us into your garden. Thank you.
