Mowing overgrown lawn in backyard after 2 months. Lawn mowing thick Winter weeds that have infested half of this St Augustine (Buffalo Grass) overgrown lawn. It is wet from rain over the weekend. The edges have soil poking out here and there and look horrible after trimming. No need to comment because I will have to try a metal blade or thicker trimmer cord on this lawn’s edges during the warm season when the soil is dry.
I also need to buy a straight shaft string trimmer to replace my old worn out ones. That and thicker trimmer cord would have helped here better, instead of the bent shaft trimmer that is all I have at the moment. The reason that I have included the embarrassing lawn edge trimming here is to show that thin cord and a bent shaft trimmer are not up to the job. It is why I do not recommend them unless you have no choice.
Did you know …?
The aim next year is to buy a little bit more camera equipment and a couple of string trimmers. You can help by being a Super Fan via the ‘Thanks’ button above. A Super Thanks when you comment can help “the little guy” more than you know. It is just one way to show your support. Give it a try?
Filming this video
The lawn mowing action is split into multiple sections for the purpose of filming in this video. It starts with the shorter lawn first and progresses to multiple cuts at different mower deck heights on the thickest section of weeds and lawn. Most of this lawn care video is in 2 x speed time lapse with volume lowered in editing to 30%. Mute if you need to instead of commenting negatively. There is a brief POV lawn mowing segment as I move the camera (in time lapse). After that there is a real-time lawn mowing segment with the #Honda lawn mower. It i just a man mowing lawn by then. The file size is 1.24GB in SD.
