Hey Friends, it seems the holiday season is already in full swing around here. We’re working, shopping, decorating, baking and going to all the parties. I mean the holidays are great but we can’t eat party food every night. In the middle of all the hustle and bustle wouldn’t you just love to sit down to a good old comfort food meal with your family? I’m sharing a couple of crockpot comfort food dinners that are perfect for this busy holiday season. So just sit back, take a little break and let me and the crockpot do the cooking tonight. My Favorite Crockpot Roast
2-4 lb chuck roast
1 can cream mushroom soup
1 cup beef broth or water
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1 envelope dry brown gravy mix
I salt and pepper to taste as I’m serving this; those dry packets have a lot of salt

    Hello Mel. I have found you recently and so much enjoy your videos. Your roast is so close to what I make except I add 2 bay leaves every time. Just forgot once to add them and the whole family wanted to know why it tasted different, something was different. Hahaha. They are so funny but they made their point. Funny how family get use to the way we make meals a certain way. Looking forward to the next video. Thank you for sharing all the goodness you create.

    Hi Mel….. love all your recipes, we cook a lot alike! Nothing better than a roast sandwich the next day…..I am thinking I will have to do roast tomorrow!!! Will have to try your roast recipe too, I have always just done the onion soup mix with cut up potatoes in there too and I love it! Can’t wait to try both of these potato recipes too….. love the “fried” potatoes in the crockpot! Thanks for these new ideas!!

    If I ever had to pick my last meal….I would want pinto beans, fried potatoes, cornbread, corn, turnip greens, slices of tomatoes, some sliced up cucumbers and onions! Oh, and don't forget the Chow-Chow!!!!

    When I was a kid my mom used Chili O.
    As an adult I never gave it thought until I saw your show. I ordered it, for "old time's sake", and now it's sitting in my kitchen smiling at me. LoL

    I LOVE my crockpot. I am getting one for a good friend who has 5 kids and NO CROCKPOT..I didn't even know there were people who didn't own crockpots. I am originally from Central FL but since I moved up to WA, NO ONE I know has a crockpot..what is wrong with these folks? I just do NOT know..lol

    That is a pretty neat idea on the potatoes. The only thing is I like a little bit of crisp on mine, but it's nice to know they can be done in a crockpot. Your food always looks so good. ♥️

    I usually use a ham hock, onions and a can of Rotelle Tomatoes in my pinto beans! So good and a little spicy.
