If I had a place to put one of those types of redbud, I would surely have one. I’m glad to hear that you didn’t give up trying to get one to grow for you! I’m sure you’ll check to make sure that it’s straight.

I started following you about a year ago. I think it was just before you put in your new fence. I do have a question about that. I noticed there are a lot of access gates that seem to go to your neighbors property to a space behind your yard, and I was wondering can you share what was the thought /purpose behind that?

Siebenthaler's website says they have the Red Obelisk European Beech at their Beavercreek garden center. If this is the same variety you want, definitely give them a call to verify they have it before you drive there. It looks like a wonderful tree.
That is a gorgeous tree. I hope it does well for you. I lived in northwest Ohio for 17 years. I froze many winters. Put fleece insoles in all my boots.
I too have been searching for this redbud. Seriously would consider driving to Ohio to purchase that last remaining one 😉

I am really shocked that you cannot find a red obelisk beech that is a good size, particularly at a place like Siebenthalers. But if you strike out there, I would consider trying Klyn. I was really impressed with the plants I got from them via our local independent nursery. And they grow some plants you will not find anywhere else — at least easily
This redbud really exceeded our expectations. It is such an elegant tree – particularly when the summer takes hold But I would note that at least in our experience it will not color up well in the fall like redbuds that are not variegated so I would site it with other trees that do
