My books and videos are all grounded in what I actually do, I make sure you can see the evidence. For example if I suggest sowing carrots in November, take a look at my monthly tours to see them growing and my harvest videos for May to see the actual results. I’m not just about regurgitaing information from the backs of seed packets!
Just because all my resources are ‘free of charge’, to everyone, doesn’t mean they aren’t good quality. My objective is to make sure that there’s no need to be rich to get access to great gardening information. I do however have a lot of costs to cover and my time is valuable to me, so please consider supporting me at https://www.buymeacoffee.com/steverichards

Thanks Steve appreciate these daily vids. Making winter pass.
Your one of the few on here that arent pushing a product on us.
I took your advice last winter and covered my lettuce. The growth doubled in a very short space of time.
👍👍👍, Plenty of lettuce and it's looking good, Take care
I use grow lights indoors to improve my winter depression and grow stuff like orchids.
Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge, Steve! What gardening zone are you in? Wondering how to modify the timings for my zone 6B Eastern Canada garden. Thanks again.
Ditto Karl P.
Great video Steve – I am harvesting my overwintering lettuce and yes there is big variation between those outside in a frame and those in the greenhouse.

A very enlightening and encouraging video as always.
Love your lettuce hanging baskets ! 💚🥬
Looking good Steve, I'm thrilled with my crop of greens this year. I have Asian greens in the hanging baskets, which is brilliant because they always got damaged down low. The winter purslane has self seeded, which worked out good as a second crop. I add land cress, which I know is very stong in flavour but it seems mild to taste in a mix strangely enough. The grenoble red is still the star of the mix. I marvel at how healthy and accessible it is to carry in greens from the garden. I haven't bought lettuce in a plastic bag for over 8 years now. How would brussel sprouts do now under grow lights? Would it be enough to just turn them on for a few hours a day do you think? Kind Regards Bernadette
To me, winter is the hardest season to grow veg and video's like this are an inspiration to carry on. I've got 3.5 raised beds outside and one in my greenhouse. I am struggling to figure what to grow in my greenhouse. I am currently waiting on some spinnach to grow over winter.
I also have some volunteer tomato plants, though some have succumb to mould, the rest are fighting on.
Thank you Steve. Always so generous with your advice. Lettuce looked great 🤞
Thanks for the great advice on the lettuce growth ib winter. Very good to learn . going to be doing some tweaking to get it just right here.
Great video, and you just gave me a brainwave, lettuce in my loftspace under growlights. Many thanks for all your inspirational videos
Hi Steve I would like to send huge thanks for your ebook. It's such a great resource and I have been using it a lot as a reference for my veg growing – just have to add (or subtract) 6 months to your dates to make it work for me here in New Zealand.
Another great video Steve, thanks! I’ve found that my corn salad / lambs lettuce seeds take WAY longer to germinate than any other lettuce I’ve tried. Do you have the same experience? No grow lights here, just natural conditions.
