Hi Y’all! Here’s an update on the vicious storms that hit yesterday. Also explaining why September is important to us gardeners for our mental, spiritual and physical health. Keep up the great community support you all provide each other. Much love!

  1. We are in North Texas, 2 years now. You have inspired me to plant some fall seeds. Using buckets and totes for now, until we build a few raised beds and deer fencing around them. Thank you for all you do! Blessings, friend.

  2. Thank YOU Jill for always taking the time to show us what you’re doing. Learning a lot from you, and it’s comforting to know we’re all in the same boat and of the same mindset. We have lost 3 family members this year. I feel for you on the loss of loved ones. 💕

  3. I pray for you all as you go through these sad times and I love your channel and I feel like we are all fellowshipping together. God bless you all Amen 🙏

  4. Thanks to you and your prompting, we have planted a full fall garden. Our summer garden was a complete fail with weeds, pests, and heat issues but we are in full swing again! Lettuces, squash, carrots, kohlrabi, beets, turnips, onions, cabbage, broccoli, etc. all went in the ground this past week. Thanks so much Jill! Hugs!

  5. LOVED this chat Jill. Can't wait to feel a little chill here gal, bring it! Boy the framing on that high tunnel is so intricate and it is amazing to see it hold up like it did in that storm. Very happy for you guys that damages were minimal, thank the Lord. Doesn't seem possible It has been a year already since the home going of your mother. Having peace about is everything isn't it? My hug is around you girl.

  6. I'm real glad y'all made it through those crazy high winds and storms! Definitely planting a fall garden. I have an 8×4 bed in community garden. I'm starting to clear up space and harvest whatever is left there from summer. I don't get enough sun on my apt balcony, but starting peas in peat pots, also a few "42 day" cherry tomatoes from seed (I welcome pointers), and some green bush beans. I figure the bed may be ready by the time they sprout. Tomatoes are my favorite and I really want to grow some good ones.

  8. My body is just to tired to plant this fall. Letting my plants growing to see what I can get before the frost. Having to move in January looking for a place I can afford 🙏.

  9. I look forward to your posts each day. We have a large garden at our church in Plano where we give away the food to our neighborhood, ESL classes, church members, or whoever happens to wander by. Right now, we don’t have anything but okra to give out. It’s a real challenge, so your encouragement and prayers really help. Susan McLeod

  10. I just found you about a month ago and I am thankful I did. My mom made her journey to heaven November 5th last year after dealing with dementia for several years. I call it grief & relief—grief she’s gone, relief that her life is so much better now.

  11. I'm in west central Texas. It has been storming here but very little rain, if any.

  12. I haven’t wrapped up my spring garden yet but have already sown some of my favorite greens for fall. I’m sluggish because of the hot summer.

Be blessed and hope you have a fantastic day.

  13. WOW that high tunnel stood strong. Love the Texas sky after storms. It's been 20 years since my Mother passed and we know where they are at. Don't be sad, they are with the Lord. Rochelle and I will put you in our prayers. God Bless, Mike

  14. This has been a tough year. One thing after the other. And it is not over yet. This started during the Fall Jewish Feast season last year (this round at least) and I doubt anything will change until then. At least that is almost here.

But, whatever happens, the Lord says to stand strong in him and stay the course, and HE will stand with us. That doesn't mean it will be easy, but we will make it. That is what I live on and I know you do too. That is why I love to listen to you. You encourage me so much.

Not sure about the Fall garden. Still fighting sickness. But we just keep walking through. And keep your voice out there. People need to hear you.

    As always, 🙏🏼4u

  15. Hi from Tyler. We got a pop up thunderstorm about 6 am and then it moved south for a while then it stopped and is now heading back our way.

  16. Ya my dad passed July 22nd and that thought hasn't even come to me about the "year anniversary", great we have the holidays coming up too. Ohh brother.
