Lawns are finally thinning out after being infested with Winter weeds here. However, there is still rain around and mowing overgrown grass is still annoyingly time-consuming. The #Honda lawn mower just refuses to bag wet grass clippings because of the small chute. That too wastes time in having to rake and bag clippings. I did not film that part here but had to rake and bag a lot of clippings and then mow again.
This video shows a couple of ways for how to mow a lawn. I split the job into two parts for the purpose of filming and experimenting with the way in which I went about mowing the lawn. Trimming lawn edges and then cutting grass going to seed with the #Husqvarna bent shaft string trimmer was the first step before then mowing lawn. I then show the lawn mower cutting grass in the other half of this small lawn. It looks dry and scalped in the end but there is still a bit of height left on it. You really cannot scalp a lawn with the Honda lawn mower because it cannot go any lower than 1 inch. My other mower can be lowered a bit more and that can scalp lawns easily.
