  1. πŸ‘I am just thrilled for you!! Bravo! such good tips for the community….Thank You very much ❀

  2. I put those buzzing things for voles in my garden this year. I had more damage from moles or voles than I ever have. I threw those things in the garbage. Beautiful sw potatoes Kaye!

  3. You can slice some of the sweet potatoes very thin and dehydrate into chips or you can bake same thin slices (some would fry but that is not as healthy but it is yummy).

  4. Wow, what a beautiful harvest you have!!! God bless your garden if you ask him to DO SO. Seriously, before you plant anything, PRAY GOD TO TAKE GOOD CARE OF EVERY PLANT, AND YOU WILL SEE THE DIFERENCE. FAITH FROM YOUR HEART, WILL MATERIALIZE IN THINGS NEVER SEEN BEFORE. ASK AND YOU WILL SEE. Enjoy your beautidul harvest. You deserve it because you worked so hard!πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€

  5. I love this! 3 years ago I did just like Danny at DeepSouth did with his slips. Save the little ones and plant them for slips. I will NEVER use a jar or buy slips again! Last year I showed my neighbor and now she's doing it too. What's even better is she sent me a picture a couple days ago of her pressure canning some of her sweet potatoes. Her first canning project besides pickles. The ripple effect of Deep South is ALIVE!! LOL I plant mine in raised beds. They are open to the ground. Nothing bothered them unlike everything else. And they were out on the side yard with all the critters. But, next year all the critters may find them. I don't know. I use produce boxes I get from Costco that stack for all potatoes. They are stacked in my pantry room. So far, I haven't had too much of a problem. The ones in the top box started to sprout long before the others. Windows are blacked out so I don't know why. AWESOME HARVEST!!!

  6. Very informative on growing sweet potatoes two different ways and the challenges you've had. I always thought the rooting in a jar method would be cumbersome to manage until they got in the ground so definitely go with the tray method. Unbelievable the size those got even with some mole/vole damage. Awesome job Kaye!

  7. I had a huge success with sweets this year too. Sweet potatoes aren't really potatoes so greening isn't a problem I don't think. All damaged ones heeled over. I'm changing out my dump cart to no flat tires. So sick of flat tires. Solar vibrators did nothing to protect my yard/orchard. I just found them piled up with soil, like I was being laughed at.

  8. Nice Harvest Kaye! I used the method of putting the potato in potting soil to grow my slips this year. It worked very well. I got more slips than I've ever had. I know of no good method to stop voles. There are several burrowing rodents that will burrow to eat sweet potatoes. We just have cut the damage off and eat, can, dehydrate or freeze dry them. Mine have been harvested about two months now. Thus far, I haven't had to preserve them in any special way. I'm just using the damaged ones first

  9. Great success Kaye!🍠 You have mastered growing sweet potatoes!🍠
Next year… working on those never ending dang varmints.πŸ’•πŸ¦ƒ

  10. So happy for you! Excellent harvest! You are persistent in your gardening efforts, and that’s key.😊

  11. You've got sweet potatoes of every shape and size! I love a baked sweet potato with butter, maple syrup and cinnamon.
