  1. Perhaps you don't know what exactly is going on in your local park then. Has species richnees been on decline, have you examined the shady understory of tall deciduous and compared diversity across years? If it is in North America, you do not want periwinkle there.

  2. its not in NA, subtropical climate, think S.Africa or Madagascar, no deciduous trees. Periwinkle seems to live in harmony with all the rest of the ecosystem. Maybe they restrain them by pruning but they sure don't look like it

  3. this video doesn't give me any specifics as to how to grow the plant. Well made video, but fishing for hits with the title.

  4. I've been growing this for over 10 years in my front yard, SoCalif., zone 9. It gets full sun and the temps can go down to the 20's in the winter, up to 110 (sometimes more, thankfully rarely) in the summer. I put it in a bed bordered by bricks, 2 high It grows fairly quickly, and thickly. I just trim it back with hedgers about once, sometimes twice per year. It's gotten to about a foot tall and is very showy with purple flowers pretty much all year. It's been drought tolerant once established

  5. THANKS I HAVE A MOUND OF THIS STUFF IN MY BACK YARD. I COULDN'T HELP BUT TO NOTICE THE FLOWER MARKER IN THE POT BEHIND YOU I HAVE SOME POPCICLE STICK AND I WILL USE A MILK JUG TO DRAW THE FLOWER. WHAT DID YOU USE OR WHERE DID YOU BOUGHT YOURS.

  6. Yolanda, you mentioned planting vinca minor in full hot sun. others say shade is necessary. will it really grow in hot sun too…? thxs

  7. There's no more worth rewarding when you have Vinca Minor in your home. It's nice to grow this kind of plant in your yard. As far as my knowledge is concerned, Vinca Minor is one of the best alternative medicine you could ever have right in your garden.

  8. I have tons of this under my bushes in the shade it grows thickly. I have never seen it climb up like a vine. I am in Newport News Virginia. Never gets brown, springtime purple flowers then all green leaf again. Leaf is small about a 3/4 inch long.

  9. hey how about we dont plant non-native species in places they dont belong at all. keep vinca minors indoors if you want one, they do fine and make a nice hanging plant. water frequently, and dont leave them in places where they can cause damage. hang them up properly or keep on a window sill with glass. no screen.

or you can get a large pot and a trellis to prevent invasive spread.
