Do you hate waste, but love online shopping? Of course, we recommend shopping locally whenver possible, but on the occasion when all that packaging that comes through our doors, what can we do with it all?! Bubble wrap, polystyrene and cardboard boxes can be a nuisance to recycle. Fear not! Ben has lots of clever suggestions for how to reuse your packaging in your garden so that none of it goes to waste.
Here at Grow Veg, we don’t endorse Amazon, but love them or loathe them, packaging is everywhere. If you’re not an online shopper yourself, why not ask your neighbours for their unwanted packaging- let’s reuse this in the garden and give something back to the Earth, quite literally!

Whether you love or loathe Amazon, there's a huge amount of packaging being delivered to homes these days. Even if you don't receive packages, other people near you probably do. Which of my tips for reusing packaging do you like the best? Are there any other ways you've used packaging in your own garden? Please share them below!
Are you not worried about micro plastics from the cardboard? I only use cardboard from companies that say they use water based ink etc but I don’t know if I’m being a bit too paranoid, I would love to use all my cardboard I could make so much compost then haha 😂 someone please let me know though if using any old cardboard is okay 🙂 x
Don’t you love we’re all adapting to Bezos. I used to run over bubble wrap with a forklift. Sounded like a machine gun. Scared my goon coworkers. Loved it. I use it like you are now. I am post goon job . I get businesses to save me cardboard and shredded paper. Usually get a van load all at once. You can also raid the recycling bins and pick up bags of leaves thoughtfully collected for you. Lol
Just loooooooove it all🥰🙏🥬🦋🌱🐞🐝🇸🇪 SUECIA Sweden
Oh Ben, another great video buddy, thank you, I use practically all of these tips, I've even started making pressed paper bricks for the wood burner too
Wish we got that wool insulation here in the US.
Great ideas! Composting the cardboard back to the earth was a 💡 moment. Until now just thought of it as an ingredient to make compost so I don't have to buy it in bags. As a new gardener I feel I'm relating more to the earth with every growing season, which is quite short here in Canada. Mind blown!
I simply couldn't agree more. All those cardboard boxes that Amazon ships to our doorsteps are one of the greatest wastes of our precious sustainable resources and an incredible nuisance – along with all those plastic bags and empty water bottles blowing around in the streets – in addition to all those plastic bags. Therefore, it's always better to shop locally and bring your own containers.
If you have a worm bin you can use most of this material except plastic to use as a bedding for the worms, they will process that in no time if it is moist.
I thought I knew what you had today, but I learned several ideas! Thx
Great ideas! I’m testing whether a worm bin can totally compost the tape from Amazon boxes. It’s been a few months and the tape hasn’t totally disappeared yet. Those reinforced threads are hanging around!

Wow. Amazing stuff. Thanks for sharing 🤠
I am having a Blue Peter moment 🙂 Hands up those who remember – empty washing up bottles to make a rocket, etc. Thank you. You are such a cheery fellow to listen to. Great advice as always.
lol, bubble glazing
love your videos!
I love these ideas, thank you for sharing!!
i might go back to the recycling bins at the supermarket and get those boxes back now 😀
Lovely ideas 🙂
great video🤎🍂🍁
You BASTARD….That puppy is to die for So Beautiful xxxxxxx
The Styrofoam boxes make good containers for growing microgreens. Just line it and plant away. If you keep bees, the brown paper can also be used to start your smoker. Worms love cardboard and other paper products…use it in your worm farms. Paper run thru the shredder can be used in both places too.
I appreciate these video's but people need to stop buying from NWO companies like Amazon. You're literally funding the NWO. Buy local and pay cash while you still can! cheers
Ben as usual a great video, the best one for me was the cabbage collar great idea! Love your cheerful
Presentation great on a cold November day! Thank you ☘️☘️☘️☘️
I bet your mrs and kids love you when they open their Christmas presents.
We have used the cardboard for in the planter boxes but I never thought of it on the ground.
just curious, isn't the ink on the boxes toxic? if so, l would not want those toxins feeding my food so l'm hoping someone who knows would reply. thank you!
Absolutely brilliant ideas Ben. You’re a genius!
