Tyler had proven success with applying the Hugelkultur method to his raised garden beds this year. So now I am copying him!
*WHAT is the Hugelkultur method?:*
Hügelkultur (German pronunciation: [ˈhyːɡl̩kʊlˌtuːɐ̯]), literally mound bed or mound culture is a horticultural technique where a mound constructed from decaying wood debris and other compostable biomass plant materials is later (or immediately) planted as a raised bed. Adopted by permaculture advocates, it is suggested the technique helps to improve soil fertility, water retention, and soil warming, thus benefitting plants grown on or near such mounds.[1][2]

Sounds good! Just avoid huge logs as some people have found rats liked it as their home, and then if food grows right there, it makes them a convienient place and nothing left for the gardener.
Nice job!! I did this and our beds this year mainly just to take up space so I wouldn't have to buy as much dirt. My only problem with the big logs is that when you go to put a tomato stake or something down in there you end up hitting them and it's almost impossible to get a stake in. I think I'm going to pull some of my bigger logs out and just spend the money on some good dirt. I'll still definitely use sticks and leaves and twigs
Nice! We have leaves for you if you want them! Lol
I wonder if the pine needles would be good for it??? Tons of them!!
Great video! I started all my beds that way, just added a new one 2 weeks ago, I get my compost from the woods behind our home, just take away the leaves and dig up your free compost 😁
