The 2022 Southwest Kiln Conference wasn’t a complete bust. On Friday we gathered in a dry auditorium on the WNMU campus to hear presentations of various subjects related to ancient pottery and replication. Danielle Romero, the WNMU Museum Director gave this presentation titled “Mimbres Sourcing of Clays and Trade Systems” based on her work studying Mimbres pottery from the Elk Ridge Site.
