Nexus of Water, Food Security, Policy and Strategic Invention:
The world is experiencing the adverse consequences of human actions on the environment, which have negatively affected the balance of food, energy, and water resources and the world’s ecosystem. There is a simultaneous shortage of Food, Energy, and Water on a global scale. Convergent technologies have the potential to enhance both human performance and the nation’s productivity following the Presidential Economic Recovery and Reconstruction Plan aligned with World Economic Forum green engineering solutions.
The Food, Energy & Water Nexus (FEW-N) driven by IR 4.0 is an approach that recognises interconnections, interrelationships and trade-offs between all three resources. Using IR 4.0, the FEW-N conceptual framework is adopted to understand better and systematically analyse the interactions between the natural environment and human activities and work towards coordinated management and use of natural resources across sectors and scales.
