Want to make a simple but elegant candle/ tealight holder? In this step by step DIY project, I will show you how to make a Japanese Zen Garden style tealight holder. Made from scrap wood and materials. It’s decorative, functional and would look great in the middle of any table! It’s made from Padauk and Maple and the candles sit of a bed on sand! This is an easy project that you can try at home!

  1. Very elegant! I like the sand and the overall shape, and using the veneered off-cuts is a great idea as well!

  2. Hi, Liked the video and item, but I think you need bigger matches as you were getting very close to your fingers by the time you had lit all four candles (or use two matches)

  3. Another awesome project Sean, I like it when off-cuts and scrap wood is used, I hate seeing any wood being thrown out.

  4. Using flashy offcuts to embellish the next project makes it next level… also using them before they disappear into the scraps bin to be forgotten 🙂
