Whatever u decide make sure to do a front trim of impatient players, they are excellent trim. And see if u can add some hostas'
Hey Jason, I think your design looks really good. And you can't beat roses for 3 bucks each!
I've got knockout roses and in full sun, they want to get 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide … 18 of them will be a lot of thorny pruning
Add some marigolds to the very front in different colors.
How exciting! I agree a budget and moving at some point in future are big factors.
That noise at the very beginning at video hahaha
A good video and good plants. Maybe space out the double knock out roses some
Painting low maintenance brick can sometimes become a maintenance nightmare due to salts/moisture causing paint to peel. If painted white you may need pine straw mulch at the perimeter of the foundation below roof drip edge side to defuse rain water and prevent white brick from looking dirty. Pine straw is the only mulch I know that will diffuse rain water coming off roof other mulches will splash water. Also check and assure that weep holes were installed in the brick which allows condensation to drain. When you paint brick you will be trapping more moisture in the air cavity between house sheathing and brick that would have been wicked away and dissipated on the brick wall surface in concert with weep holes. Wish I knew landscaping but hope this helps with future renovation plans.
Good deal on Rose's but I promise you want to only plant maybe five in a half circle around the tree. Those things grow fast and get out of hand even when you prune back each year.
Noooo don’t paint the bricks!
Great video Jason. Beautiful kids. Consider some boxwood plants as well.
Group most plants in odd numbers for your design. Ex.) Use 3 sunshine ligustrum, not 2. Steel band edging would look great as a border to contain/separate mulch from lawn or rent a bed edger for a clean look. Just make sure you locate any lines if digging.
Nice!
Definitely install with the future in mind. Plant with space for the plants to grow into. I like to group plants as well but I for the quantity of plants to group really depends on the space that you have to work with.
I think you should use Pine Straw instead of the mulch. That's just my opinion. Other then that I'm looking forward to seeing the completed job.
Don't paint the bricks. Good pressure washing and the plants would make it look really good.
Don't paint it you will regret it later if you do. It won't help the value of the property either. Just give it a good pressure wash new shudders and plants and it will pop
