Ron Espiritu is a passionate bonsai hobbyist located in Los Angeles California. He has been caring for bonsai trees for about a decade and has been building his current garden for the past five years. He is a member of the Baikoen Bonsai Kenkyukai club and the 2020 recipient of the California Bonsai Society Ben Oki Scholarship.

Ron loves Live Oak trees from his time growing up in San Antonio Texas and currently grows a number of California Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia)trees, Portulacaria Afra cork Jade trees, and other varieties in his backyard garden. Ron is also a high school Ethnic Studies teacher (and Tedx Speaker)who works to incorporate the history of Bonsai into his classes.
