Dean & Anne Wiese have built an amazing, large “G” scale garden railroad in their yard in Utah. The railroad has about 300 feet of track, dozens of all-weather structures, and around 40 miniature pine trees.

As it’s a large railroad with many little scenes and trains we will be back again next week with more of this fun railroad.

The Wiese’s are members of the Utah Garden Railroad Society and we will be off to several more of their railroads in upcoming weeks.

  1. Another great show!!! You made my Sunday!! I particularly liked the bonzai spruce tree mountain. Awesome!

  2. Quite a beautiful backyard garden railroad. Iโ€™m going to be visiting the Roaring Camp & Big Trees Narrow Gauge Railroad on next Sunday, where they are also going to be running their small plantation 0-4-2T #3 โ€œKahukuโ€ for shuttle service. That little engine is mainly use for shuttle service during Day Out with Thomas events.

  3. I do like the set up on train layout its so cool to see what people will build and I love looking at the for that. Thanks as always for sharing this and all the other things you have shared in your video I've going back through them as I can LOL. ๐Ÿ™‚Thomas over at The Model Hobbyist

  4. Another wonderful Sunday video. Toyman television is the best anxiety therapy I have right now. And itโ€™s free.

  5. Beautiful, but I can't bring myself to leaving it outside in the weather! It's made to but it's just my thoughts. I think about you guys and your railroad as it was raining ๐ŸŒง.

  6. Ohh, that is such a cool layout. The structures and scenes around the tracks add so much flavor and points of interest. Looks like it is set in late 1950s? The mountain with the live trees really is going to be hard to top for scenery. Is this layout lighted? If so, sure would like to see it after sundown. Meanwhile, the shoemaker's shop looks great!

  7. I wish I had the place for an outdoor Lionel layout. Iโ€™d also need the money for all of the track and switches. I hate the restrictions of indoor layouts and the fact that small ones have to go round and round.

  8. I like how the locos are battery operated instead of track powered! Where are these available? Or do you have to convert track-powered locos to battery? I think for a lot of folks who may just want an easy to build and operated garden railroad without having to pull power over to it this is great! (And you could always use solar powered lighting for night operation.) Thanks!

  9. The Weiss family have a beautiful layout with a lot of interesting eye catching detail. On each section I would notice something different. I have to admit though that the Alberta Spruce had captured my attention, it's the perfect tree for my yard.

Thanks again for another great video!

  10. If youโ€™re ever in Portland Oregon while the club is open to the public visit the Columbia Gorge Model RR itโ€™s worth the trip.

  11. Will that construction zone ever get finished from the intro to the video?? I spent the whole summer living there

  12. Glad everyone is still there! Another groaner!! Lol
Great looking layout there. Very nicely done.
Your rock walls are coming along nicely too.
    And the shoeshop looks great

  13. Good Video. Love it. but you still remind me of Paul and Jan Crouch from the Trinity Broadcasting Christian Network back in the day.

  14. Nice video. (As usual ๐Ÿ˜Š)
Also very much appreciated a look inside the shoe repair shop, with the details like the tools. Very well done. I already commented on that on a previous occasion, based on the outside alone, but this makes it even better. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

  15. Can you guys please put a Go-Pro or something similar to capture a "Driver's POV" video for next week? I would love to see that, especially going through the tunnel!.

  16. A very beautiful layout Dale and Karen, thanks for this video. I have one question: Dean says the trains are battery operated which begs the question – how many hours operating time comes from those batteries? Thanks for your wonderful channel.

  17. Love it. I really liked the hot air balloons. I was hoping they also moved, but just having them there was a nice touch. I wonder if a motorized pulley system could be used to raise and lower them under the tree(s). I wonder if a motor/pulley/zip line system could be used to move the balloon over an area while raising and/or lowering one (them)…just wondering.

  18. Oh No! Another addition for the Garage Mahal outdoor section. Hot Air Balloons now that sounds like a great idea.

  19. This is my oldest brother Dean's and my sister in law Anne's setup. They have done a beautiful job on this layout and they set it up and take it all down every year. They have worked lovingly together to create this magnificent setup.
I have to laugh…. Our last name is pronounced We-see.. LOL

  20. What a neat garden railroad.
When I was a kid, I had HO hot air balloon from Faller, I don't know if they still make them.
