(LINKS BELOW): Rick LePage and I are teaching two workshops in one of our favorite places on earth. Grand Teton National Park. We’re taking your questions while on the road. This one about whether we ever use touch to focus and/or touch to focus and shoot with our cameras is so timely. I just discovered the joys of touch to shoot while capturing focus stacked landscapes with long shutter speeds in the cold. We’ll chat a bit about our time in the Tetons, show a few images and share this fun tip using touch to shoot.

Bummer. Could get by without exposure delay but don't want to. Remote shutter release, I guess. If I was in your shoes (camera ownership wise) I would use the Z7II for landscapes if you didn't sell it. Was hoping to see some of the photos from your workshop. Happy shooting.
With the tap to focus do you think there is any benefit from using something like a stylus for more precision? Having a Samsung Galaxy S Ultra I always have a stylus with me because its in my phone.
Well, looks like I am not going to give up my Z6ii and Z7ii just yet.
I am going to guess and I could be wrong but that looks like you shot the segment across from the Gros Ventre River and campground area? Either way hope you had a great time and looking forward to office hours
Thank you. I could not get my Z9 to uncouple the touch focus and triggering the shutter in the menu. I just wanted to touch focus, not fire the shutter. Now I know that I can isolate them via the back screen icon.
Heading down to Thors Well again this year for Thanksgiving. Hope the weather is great again.
Hey! I came up to you and introduced myself by moose Wilson road, shooting the bear in the tree. Awesome to meet you!
Interesting. Got to try it out.
Beautiful backdrop, with nothing moving in the background if I did not know better you could be using a fake backdrop. Great tip on the focus to shoot.
Glad you had amazing workshops.
Best fall color in Tetons is usually in the last week of Sep. Of course, YMMV and it depends on the weather.
After re-buying the Z9, just bundled my Sony kit for shipment to MPB. My wallet just said, "Ouch." But hey …
Now that I am one of the "cool kids" with my Z9, I am loving the auto focus shift shooting.
Hi Hudson, I have found another good time to use the touch to focus/shoot feature, when you have your tripod up so high you can't see through your eyepiece. You can tilt your screen down, reach up,, compose, focus and shoot. Works great then.
