Today we’re talking retaining walls! And I don’t mean high tech, expensive retaining walls that are holding up a wall of mud. I’m talking a simple, easy, DIY retaining wall that you can do at home with some basic garden tools and a little bit of sweat equity. Let’s get into it! 1. It’s amazing. Every time we start a new project, from deck to flooring to bathroom remodel to now retaining walls, we find an incredibly helpful video or video series from Jeff! What would we do without you!

  2. Great information thank you! (Making me nervous cutting without steel toe boots though LOL Eesh 🫣🫣😄)

  3. Great video! Thank you! Love your channel! Do you have a curved wall video as well? (That’s our next project! )

  4. At 10:50 rather than moving the stones back and forth several times to get it flat it would be much easier to screed the paver base with a 2×4 and get it flat with a thin layer of leveling sand. Then you only need to move the stones once.

  5. You didn’t show how you finished off the drain. Does that entire tube get covered with gravel then dirt and sod above it?
Does the ribs just dead end on a slope with the water running out the end or does the water deep out on its way down the tube?

  6. Absolutely love this guy. The dad you wish you had when you were younger. Learned a lot of things I wish I had earlier.

  7. Please pardon my ignorance but if you set back each course of pavers 1/2 inch, depending on the final number of courses, won’t that contribute to the wall being unstable?

  8. You always amaze me with how succinct your instructions are for us DIY folks who have much less experience than you. Thank you!

  9. Me thinketh great overall video except for the irresponsible way shown to cut the stone where that gigantic saw is held by hand so close to your…….leg@@!?😝🤪😜😎
    P.S. Correction., safety…….first!!!🤪😉

  10. Such a great video, then you ruined it with "production over safety". Why would you put that in a public video that people use as a tutorial? Very irresponsible of a "professional"

  11. Bro get some steel toes on and some safety glasses maybe even ear pro when cutting please

  12. Great video. The euro weenies amongst us recoiled in horror at the lack of eye protection hearing protection and toe protection when using the diamond bladed saw. 🫣

  13. Love this! What are the specs of the geotextile fabric so I know what to look for – do you have a link to the exact (or similar) product that you used for this wall?

  14. I will sugest not to do this his way, no ppe used will require a trip to a hospital, rock dust is extremely dangerous to you lungs so a mask is needed. You can build a wall like this but no higher than 4 feet, after that your breaking the law.

  15. Can i build the garden retaining wall 3 layers crossover on buried sewer line. 1 paver has 24 lbs weight. I build with 3 layers .so weight will be 75 lbs . Sewer pipe can handle of that weight . Someone Please help me concern and instruction please .

  16. Great work!! I think you would really benefit from the New Pryger bar that’s going to be for sale soon! Check out our videos, thanks!😍😍😍

  17. This guy is great with drywall. But I have a lot of problems with his retaining wall. That is more of a wall for garden bed, not to retain anything.

  18. same story I've heard from every person Ive ever treated in the ER with a power tool injury. something like "I've been using x kind of tools for y years, i dont know how this happened"
