  1. That was fun to watch. It’s so open with all those boxwoods gone. Lost of room to create. Thanks

  2. Ouch! 🙈😂🥴 I did like the calmness of just the grass around the Hartley but I'm sure your vision will be lovely too

  3. I have a Taylor juniper that is thriving in my zone 4 garden. Monrovia’s website says they are hardy 3-9 so you should be good to go.

  4. How exciting! It's a blessing to have a partner who provides such a great balance to you, Laura. My late husband was my balance. And everyone should have a Chad and a Paul!

  5. The Hartley project is looking great! I think a multi trunk birch would look nice in the 2 spaces instead of the evergreens because it will soften the angled structure of the Hartley.

  6. The boxwood couldn't be replanted somewhere else? Did you dig up the bulbs that were planted there?

  7. Oh my goodness the structure around the Hartley is coming right along, it's going to be gorgeous.❤️

  8. It's my first year growing garlic and I am so excited! But I'm confused about watering. Do I water it on a regular basis or only once I see growth?

  9. I like watching the progress! (Destruction and all!) But then I said before that I'm more like Aaron than you in that department. Thanks for sharing it, I know it's hard for you!

  10. you have the sharp brick border corners, the "squared"-off box woods, the sharp angles of the hartley, the hard glass/metal of the hartley, and also the hardness of the gravel walkways. The birch would soften those angles and hardness up especially if you arch the "covered walkway" aspect of it. While the cypress would enhance it with such a rigid structure.

  11. How exciting!! For many years people have asked you to make your gardens accessible to tours. I hope you never do because that’s your home, sanctuary. We can be blessed by your videos

  12. Whew, watching those boxwoods coming up was brutal, but it’s going to be beautiful ❤️

  13. Where's the new grass pathway leading to? I smell a pond! 🤔 God, I hope so! 🤞🤣

  14. PW has a new tall and slender arborvitae for Next year called 'Sting' – have you seen it?

  15. Wow! What fun to watch all the progress! I know it’s hard to watch things be torn apart, but you have a great vision and do a fantastic job turning the new spaces into beautiful new spaces. My heart sunk about your wall of lilacs though! They are my favorite large bush-tree. Well done on planning beautiful new spaces!

  16. A bit of a random question…has your garden ever been featured in one of the gardening magazines? Or have you been approached and declined the opportunity? I would think they could do a recurring feature on your property for sure. So much to highlight and learn from. I am in awe of how much you have accomplished in the “new” property in such a short time. It’s really incredible! (Insert before and after drone footage here 😊)

  17. My 2 cents, multi trunk birchs
    It's quite the design ..
Back garden area you need a block of trees to block the view of neighbors metal canopy .. just idea
    It's nicely coming together ❤️

  18. Sadly, you will have to take the Ash tree down, I have never seen an Ash so diseased. Here in SE Wisconsin, most the Ash trees had to come down due to Emerald Ash Borer.

  19. You made a great decision removing all the overgrown scrubs to move forward with your plan for a beautiful space. Change is a good thing sometimes.
