  1. I recently got a sticky bug parasite stuck to one of my plants. I had to wash down with dish washing liquid. Works wonders. Yes was from soil. I need to be more careful when buying

  2. I find that no matter the brand I use for soil gnats will ALWAYS appear indoors 😫

  3. I watched one utuber who put boiling water in the soil he used to pot his indoor seedlings before planting them of course. I think he said though that was for the starting plants as they are only there a short while and dont get fertilizer at first. Then moved outside.

  4. Mi gardener had a utube where he used a toothbrush vibrator on the flowers to help the polination.

  5. Hi Darling x it is my Birthday today. Have had a lovely day x How have you been x How is yiur Back? Did that Icepack in a pillowcae help you that i suggested x Your seedlings look really healthy x Well that Toothbrush idea sounds and looks great who would have thought it lol x

  6. I hope you're feeling better today Kaye, I just wanted to say how much I enjoy watching your Rose alley, my favorite is your bugambilia, I love that plant so much I'm getting a couple of them, take good care of yourself

  7. hi Kaye those sticky pads the modern version
my mom hung what she called a fly paper
it wasn't a paper it was a i remember a srip of sticky tape
which she hung from a ceiling light fitting
    in summer flys gnats,
    were a nuisance buzzing around
fly strip when full of flys you simply
    replaced it
whether it was hygienic i wouldn't know
like so many thing in bygone days no body cared
about how food was sold hygiene
washing of hands well toilet in the backyard
cows pigs chickens all had to be feed
our farm had a scullery with a stone sink and a cold watertap
a block of green washing soap
    thats what we washed with
    winter or summer
in winter the backs of my hands were raw
    with chapped skin
    mom had this green ointment
i had to rub on before going to bed
worked after a day or two
living on a farm up in Utah winters are severe
so everyday you're out in snow n lce
    animals have to be tended
OK your growing light works wonders with plant growth
must get me one from "Amazon"
    and those sticky pads
yes gnats the eggs are dormant in your compost
as soon as any form of heat is in contact with the potting soil or say garden dirt,,,, these eggs hatch and you have gnats
night time they are attracted to artificial light
in your case Kaye your kitchen light
so keep sticky pad near to you light sorce
OK,………. Kaye have a safe trip over to TN

  8. You are such a go-getter, I can't keep up with all the videos I want to see. Just found the one with Doug & Stacy off-grid..so cool! My outdoor tomatoes are in 5 gal. containers except one, in about 1.5 gal. or so, which seems to be doing JUST as well. So cool the eggplant growing indoors!! Tomatoes are self-pollinating but one garden video I saw showed what you said about the toothbrush or jiggling it with your fingers. I've been jiggling the OPEN flowers when I water each container.

  9. I haven't seen your garden in awhile. Looking good. You don't have to use a toothbrush for the tomato plants. You can just tap the branches a few times. : )

  10. I have to bring in my citrus and tropical bonsai for the winter. Last year, I just brought them in without doing an inspection. Guess what I’ve been dealing with since winter? Scale insects. Yup. Now I know why plants must be pest free (or cleaned off) before they are brought inside. I got so tired of dealing with scale insects I ended up throwing away two beautiful poinsettias.
Your eggplant looks strong and great!! Let’s grow them indoors together! Mine are still seedlings. Hope my Costco shop light will be bright enough for them.

  11. Just read the comments….. glad your back is better, Kaye!! It’s good you’re now doing indoor gardening…. I always worried about your back whenever you did work at Later Bloomer 1.0.

  12. Way to "make it work" Kaye! Gnat eggs are probably in all bagged mixes unfortunately but those yellow stickies work great to eliminate the adults. The key to indoor gardening without pests is to not over-water your plants – when the gnat eggs hatch, the larvae feed on fungus which can be brought on by over-watering. Make sure to let the soil dry some in between watering, also sprinkling cinnamon on the top of the soil is said to help as it has anti-fungal properties.

  13. Gnats! Ugh! Glad you caught a lot of them. I really appreciate how resourceful you are with the indoor garden and limited space. Love those sweet potato slips. very nice.

  14. Kaye just a thought if you have different varieties
i near location its there a danger of cross pollination?????
    Hope Linden is ok
    Ed xx

  15. I loved the pollen shower! For all vine crops, if they are leggy when you transplant, they should be planted up to the leaves. This will make stronger plants. Like planting tomatoes deep. Love your videos.

  16. You can treat your fungus gnats organically with Mosquito Bits–its a biological larvicide activated by watering. Sprinkle a few granules on the soil of each of your plants and water it in. It might take a few weeks to get them all, but the gnats will eat the bacterial larvicide instead of your plants, and they die. I noticed a difference in one day when I used them.

  17. Hi Kaye, love your video. If I may suggest, perhaps use the back side of the toothbrush when pollinating instead of the bristles to avoid cut or scratch the bloom stem. It's just as effective🌱🙌
