When the heat of summer truly sets in, many gardeners prefer to sit back in the shade and enjoy their garden, instead of sweating to maintain it. The one task that many of us don’t mind, however, is watering and fertilizing our containers. These potted gardens are easy to enjoy while relaxing on the porch or patio, and—let’s be honest—no outdoor entertaining area is complete without a few show-stopper container gardens.

In this video from the horticulturist Monty Don, host of Gardeners’ World (available on Britbox.com), you’ll learn how to plant a pot that will be an instant focal point of the summer season.

  1. Monty Don is the one who got me inspired to garden years ago. He made it seem important and unpretentious at the same time. He is an amazing speaker, presenter, and of course gardener. I especially love how he gets Gardeners World to highlight eco friendly urban projects around the world, as well as the psychological benefits of gardening. His focus on community gardens gives all the feels ❤️❤️❤️ Can you guys hire him for a YouTube special show/ episodes? That would be amazing. I love your magazine, and I tried listening you your podcast, but quite frankly (and I’m sorry to say), arguing about plants is neither a good premise for most people who garden for its soothing quality, nor was it very helpful (in my experience). Thank you for featuring him! I feel like more American gardeners need to know about him.
