Question: Can lighting like this help the plants during the night?

Probably not. Need to have the right spectrum of light. Maybe some effect with the right bulb but you don’t know what will get filtered out through the glass

Lights at night do not help plants – it fucks w them.

Plants rely on the patterns of sun & moon to regulate their own biological processes.

They detect changes to the spectrum (how blue is the light, how red is the light) which signals them to start blooming, or to start going into dormancy.

For outside plants, adding artificial light can mess with their natural cycles. They can miss when it’s time to harden for winter, if kept too bright and warm, so the first frost will hurt them badly.

For INSIDE plants, if heat is what you’re after, then go with an indoor grow tent or under-pot heating mat.

For OUTDOOR plants, if you’re trying to grow something that isn’t hardy to your zone, and will die w/ freezing temps, then building it a shelter, or setting a barrel of water w/ a water-heater in it next to the plant will do more good than a lightbulb.

No, grow lights are different than regular lightbulbs. If you need supplemental lighting, buy a grow light.

Plants need darkness at night just as much as they need light during the day.
