FAQ: Light – I get lots of bright, indirect light (200+ foot-candles) from a large skylight. Most tropical foliage plants are fine without direct sun (in fact they would burn). Propagation – The key to propagation from stem cuttings is, after they’ve grown 1cm or more of root, you should transplant 4-5 cuttings into a small pot – not a large one. Be sure to pack in the soil snuggly – roots don’t want super fluffy soil. Watering – as always, I use the plastic nursery pot as a way to control moisture – I can water thoroughly and remove the excess that collects in the wall planter, which is water-tight – no spills! I got these plastic wall planters in Hong Kong but I’ve seen similar ones at big box stores (but many have put away their gardening equipment for the season so you may have to wait until spring). They hang with regular picture hangers.
