A little girl’s decision to trade the playground for a garden adventure turned into a milestone moment for the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, which recently welcomed its 500,000th visitor.
“Congratulations, Cecilia! You’re our 500,000th visitor!” the gardens said in a Facebook post celebrating the occasion.
Cecilia was greeted by staff who had been waiting for her and her parents to walk through the doors, making the moment a special celebration for the family and the gardens.
The young visitor received a T-shirt, while her entire family was awarded a family membership courtesy of the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens Foundation.
The gardens credited its achievement to support from the community, including visitors who come from both nearby and farther away to explore the space.
In its announcement, the gardens also gave Cecilia a playful shoutout for convincing her parents to leave the playground and visit, turning an ordinary outing into an unexpected celebration.
The 500,000-visitor milestone marks a significant moment for the Cheyenne attraction, which is looking ahead to welcoming even more guests.
The gardens said it hopes to reach its next half-million visitors while creating more memories and opportunities for the community to grow together.
