I’ve discovered over the years that I have one of two types of gardens, which seem to have nothing to do with my actual efforts:
1) A garden where everything goes off, and I have greens, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, radishes, etc seemingly from May through December. The veggies grow with a zeal bordering on vengeance. They scoff at pests, frost, flood, and drought, and just do one thing: thrive. I feel like a nature god.
2) A garden with maybe a handful of plants that survive, to produce three mealy tomatoes, one bitter cucumber, and an entire raised bed full of pepper plants that never flower and produce no actual peppers. The lettuces bolt early and often. My seed potatoes produce about the same amount of potatoes as what I put into the ground.
This can happen in the exact same bed with the same irrigation system, planting schedule, etc.
Anyway…
Are you gonna harvest the green tomatoes? We’re due for cold weather tonight, into the 30s. I harvested half of mine and left the totally green ones on the vine.

I sincerely wish I let my pepper and tomato go a second round. I had so many but I fell into the trap of “Fall”. Zone 10b bich slapped me with 90+ temps well into September. And its still hot. My turnips and lettuce are struggLANG!
