It’s possible those lavender might be dying due to ants; when you see a lot of ants it could be because they love hard compacted dirt, it makes digging tunnels easier for their colonies because they won’t collapse. Just a possibility. Love your channel!!
I always feel some sort of way about "volunteer" plants. Like, "you go, little buddy, fight the system!"
Question from Florida: When you were planting the Daisy Maes the soil you suffered up was so black. Have you amended that soil so well that it isn't sandy now? You are correct about freezing tomatoes 🍅.
Your fortunate not to have a wildlife problem where you are. You cant grow a vegetable garden in SW PA without a electric fence or dog in a fenced yard. Whitetail deer will come in and destroy the whole crop in one night. They will even come in broad daylight.
I freeze tomatoes too. So much easier!! Sorry to hear the lavender isn't the blessing we all hoped then would be. Question: Can we have some more floral arrangements with your cut flowers? You're always inspiring!
Didn't u get over 500 lavender plugs from the same grower? Could they have had something wrong with them from the beginning and they are just being affected. Maybe the grower can troubleshoot with you. You have beautiful lavender other places. So frustrating!
I have planted lavender and a friend told me once plant it water once and leave it so maybe try taking ur water system for watering them and it will probably save them .my lavender is doing great with no extra water other then when it rains I live in Ontario Canada
I always freeze any whole tomatoes that I have left over. Like you said, wash & dry them and take off the stem, throw them in a Freezer Zip lock and, Voila’ future tomato sauce.
I harvest and freeze all season the do a canning day in late fall and it's so easy to get them prepped. Skins slide right off!

I put my tomatoes into the freezer. I let them come to room temperature first or it creates condensation.
Yes I get tomatoes from family garden in California,so abundant I freeze it just like the way u said it and use it in winter and yes the peel does come right off

I quarter my tomatoes and freeze them. Then I thaw them when ready to use – the skin peels off very easy. Freezing also prevent tomatoes from rotting in the fridge. Do yourself a favour and freeze your excess tomatoes.
Bummer about the lavender..I think the ants are contributing can you put out the bait traps as you don’t have any edibles there.
Rather then putting the tags in the ground why not put them in the cages. That way you never have to worry about looking through the vines for a tag

Yes ,I freeze all my extra tomatoes. We core the top off & freeze. When you need them ; pull out of freezer & run under hot water for a second, the skins slide right off .Then into the pot and cook,no thawing.
